Children’s Film Festival
March 18-23

For the first time in 19 years, Mountainfilm Children’s Film Festival will be available to schools both in classrooms or virtually on-line. Through our partnership with Mountainfilm, we offer teachers age-appropriate films that share inspiring stories from around the globe. Plus, we provide a post-film curriculum so the learning continues long after the films are over. Educators interested in participating in the Children’s Film Festival can fill out this registration form and will be contacted with further information.

We are thrilled to bring you two weekends of powerful Mountainfilm playlists to screen in your home or at a watch party with friends. We’ve compiled unforgettable lineups featuring “hard-chargers” who didn’t give up, back down, or let their challenges define them. Adventure: Stories of Impact is full of high energy, heart-pumping action. The Medley: Environmentally Inspired celebrates wild places, spaces, people, and animals that inhabit our big green world. You can choose one or both weekends of film and experience the thrill of Mountainfilm on Tour!

Community Scavenger Hunt

Opens: March 1
Closes: March 28

Mountainfilm on Tour – Saugatuck Film Festival always features more than film, and this year is no different! Join us for our first (annual?) community-wide scavenger hunt and get inspired by our fabulous West Michigan environment. Our colorful, creative community is full of interesting, thought-provoking experiences that are just waiting to be discovered. We’ve put together an all-ages scavenger hunt that helps you explore our little corner of the globe and, thanks to community partners, there are super cool prizes for the winners!

Use this checklist to track your scavenger hunt progress! This hunt can be completed by individuals, families, or small teams who practice social distancing. To ensure the future enjoyment of these special places, please remember to leave a minimal carbon footprint when you visit.

Once you’ve completed the checklist (taking a photo at each stop), upload your submission photos to this form by Sunday, March 28. Please note: the upload form requires .jpg files. Costumes, creativity, and social media tags are welcome and encouraged!

The random drawing will occur on April 1 and we will award (3) winners which will be notified by email and announced on Facebook and Instagram. The winner will receive an SCA Art Pass valued at $50 which can be used for upcoming children’s summer camps, films, outdoor theatre or concerts, as well as an assortment of goodies and gift cards from our Film Festival sponsors including Modales Wines, Saugatuck Brewing Company, Outdoor Discovery Center, Uncommon Coffee Roasters and Farmhouse Deli.

Held every Memorial Day weekend in Telluride, Colorado, Mountainfilm is a documentary film festival that showcases captivating nonfiction stories on topics ranging from action sports and adventure epics to environmental causes and cultural subjects of importance. Along with exceptional documentaries, the festival goes beyond the film medium by gathering world-class athletes, change-makers and visionary artists for a multi-dimensional celebration of indomitable spirit. Mountainfilm, which incorporates interactive discussions, free community events, a gallery walk, and outdoor programming, aims to inspire audiences to create a better world.
