JUNE 7TH, 5 – 9PM | FREE ADMISSION
OUTDOOR CONCERT FROM THE ACCIDENTALS

Start your summer story — boat rides, beach walks, cook outs and sunsets — at the SCA!
We’re jumping into summer vacation with an outdoor concert featuring one of Michigan’s hottest indie-folk bands, The Accidentals. Indulge in delicious food truck fare, craft drinks, hands-on art-making activities, exclusive art for purchase, and community conversations.

Breeze into the lobby to grab a colorful cocktail then visit the gallery to see our brand new exhibition Storied Drawing: Works by Rebecca Green, Ginnie Hsu, Hillery Sproatt and Libby Vander Ploeg.

The exhibition brings together four talented young artists and visual story-tellers whose drawing-based works range from GIF’s, interactive illustration (featuring conductive ink!) and animation to painting and ceramics. The exhibit offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into each of their diverse practices, as well as their unique cross-disciplinary applications that include children’s books, advertising, textiles, and fabrics.

Don’t miss our related summer children’s programs including storytelling, painting with conductive ink and illustrating comic books, taught by Libby Vander Ploeg and Ginnie Hsu.
