Visiting Artist

February 28 - March 10

Hector Acuna

Because we are in an economically challenged rural area most students never have opportunities to meet and work with professional artists, especially artists of color. This residency program brings Hector Acuna to Saugatuck for an immersive 2-week experience with students. Hector’s own artwork will be on display in our Corridor Gallery.

January 10 – February 20 Hector will work with students at a few schools in nearby counties, curating conversation about ethnicity and skin color and sharing his story and art. Students will consider their own experiences around these topics, and with Hector’s guidance will create original 3-D puppets that will be on display at the SCA February 28 – March 7, 2020.
