When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”  -Fred Rogers

What does it mean to be a good neighbor? We’ll team up with the Saugatuck History Center to explore themes of “home” and “neighbor” by looking at empathy, inclusion, kindness, and helpfulness.

By looking at works from their permanent collection, campers will learn stories about Saugatuck & Douglas’s unique histories. Then we’ll use paper and found materials to construct a large-scale collaborative paper town.  Bring a friend (or neighbor!) and create your own most neighborly town.
