The Creative Outdoors: Creepy Crawlies w/ Dayna Walton

Nature is full of magic, but can also be filled with plenty of “ick”! Alongside local artist Dayna Walton, campers will take on the role of field researcher and artist to explore the awesome creepy crawlies of the Outdoor Discovery Center. From insects to fungus to mud, campers will use ink and watercolor to make field drawings and report their findings. Explore how appearances can be deceiving, and beauty can be found anywhere!

Dayna Walton is an artist living in Grand Rapids and working in the intersection of ecology and art. With a background in natural science illustration, her work explores the shapes and patterns of nature. Our Partner

Outdoor Discovery Center is advancing outdoor education and conservation in West Michigan. Their inquiry-based style of programming allows students to learn about and experience nature and culture in a hands-on manner. With offerings for all ages and audiences.

This offering will be hosted at the Outdoor Discovery Center’s campus: 4214 56th St, Holland, MI 49423. Pick up and drop off will occur in front of the Visitor Center by the main entrance.
