About The Program

Come on down to the pollination station! Led by Scotty Jacobs of Specialty Gardens, young gardeners will work through all the steps of designing, arranging, and planting a pollinator garden. Campers will make connections to local ecologies and learn about what creatures are considered pollinators, why they’re important and what types of plants they prefer. This hands-on experience will culminate in planting a pollinator garden onsite at the SCA for all to enjoy!

“I’ve learned that happy gardeners grow happy gardens, so I take a spirited approach to digging in the dirt. There’s something really special about helping others build their confidence too!” – Scotty Jacobs

Scotty and his wife reside in Saugatuck Township with their sweet senior pup and love hanging out close to home. Learn more about Specialty Gardens.
