ABOUT IT! The Simmons Photo Stories Uncovered

February 8 | 7 pm

Goodwill Donation

Our popular “About It!” series kicks-off with an interactive question and answer session exploring the photos included in the current Small Towns Big Picture The Bill Simmons Photographs: Saugatuck-Douglas, 1941 – 1960 exhibition on display in our gallery.

Jack Sheridan, photo historian and archivist at the Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Society, will lead a discussion exploring the stories behind the intriguing photos that document people, architecture, events and land marks from the 1940s and 1950s.

The exhibition, curated by Ken Carls and Jim Schmiechen and offered in collaboration with the Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Society, includes more than 20 large black and white re-prints of photographs that capture every day life in the community.

The interactive presentation is also the Historical Society's first monthly meeting of 2012, and will be held in the SCA’s Bertha Krueger Reid Theatre.

Admission is free, with refreshments following in the SCA lobby.
