A short comedic film about a young South Asian girl and her struggle to accept the color of her skin.

Animal Instincts
(5 minutes)

A cow and a sheep battle it out in a fight for ultimate farmyard supremacy in this action-packed claymation.

Beatless Nick
(4 minutes)

Beatless Nick is a 1950s UPA style animated short about a little beatnik with no sense of rhythm. Nick searches for his cool so he can fit in with the other Beats. In a basement jazz club, Nick tries to impress his friends by performing poetry, jazz, and even interpretive dance. But, his attempts do nothing but empty the club. Just when Nick is about to give up and move to Squaresville, he accidentally discovers a talent for scatting. The Beats love it and Nick finds his cool in his own beatless way. He may stick out like a sore thumb, but that's because Nick always marches to the beat of his own drum. Selected for 2007 Chicago International Children's Film Festival; 2008 Sarasota Film Festival Kids Fest; 2008 BAMKids Film Festival, Brooklyn; 2007 Aza Digital Cinema Festival, Greece.

Butterflies
(5 Minutes)

While all his classmates bring amazing circus animals to show and tell, Patrick's only contribution is a small, shy hermit crab. As Patrick stands awkwardly silent in front of his class, he begins to feel nervous in his stomach. Seeing his discomfort, Miss Hansen sends him to the school nurse who shows Patrick an x-ray revealing a group of butterflies in his stomach. Patrick tries to figure out how to make the butterflies leave, to the confusion of his parents who find Patrick sticking his face onto the end of a leaf-vac. Later, at an amusement park with his mother, Patrick must confront the butterflies as he finds himself terrified on a rickety old roller coaster, all the while knowing that show and tell is coming again tomorrow.

A little girl is writing a letter to her pet hamster 'Fatty', who has run away from home, and wonders about its " trip."

Detect This
(7 minutes)

Detective Trace Cooper is your average, down-on-his-luck detective who takes on a murder case of his golf buddy. His only clues - a paperclip, a piece of string, and a golf pencil. Shot in black and white in film noir style.

Do Unto Otters (A Book About Manners)
(12 minutes) 

When the Otters move in next door to Mr. Rabbit, he does not know how to act with them. This is a story that highlights how to be a good neighbor and friend- just simply follow the Golden Rule! Featuring music and voices by Jack Sundrud and Rusty Young, with additional voices by Diana Canove and David de Vries. Directed by Galen Fott. Includes a bonus interview with author/illustrator Laurie Keller.

The Girl Who Cried Flowers
(25 minutes)

This is the first animated film created with Auryn's proprietary watercolor system. Adapted from the visual, inspiring fairytale by acclaimed author Jane Yolen, this moving narrative about the beauty of creation and the power of desire is brought to life in a painterly watercolor style. In ancient Greece, a mysterious orphan is discovered. At first the local villagers are wary of the strange girl who cries beautiful blossoms instead of tears. But in time they begin to treasure her magical gift and desire her flowers. Olivia, a kind and giving spirit resolves to spend her days thinking sad thoughts and crying mountains of flowers for the insatiable villagers. However, sudden love brings change when Olivia falls for a jovial farmer named Panos. Panos desires nothing from Olivia except her happiness and so, out of love, he forbids her from crying. But the villagers will not simply forsake their beloved "girl who cries flowers."

The Hollow Tree
(28 minutes)

Timothy runs away from home after refusing to move away. He stumbles upon an old bookshop finding the mysterious and eccentric shopkeeper Wolfincrass. Every person has a book which is only meant for them, says Wolfincrass, who sets about finding Timothy's story. What he finds is "The Hollow Tree" and he leads Timothy into a world beyond his wildest imagination, following the story of orphaned brother and sister Lizzy and David, and their quest to find Home. Lizzy and David, escape from the Thornwall Orphanage for Uncommonly Regrettable Children and the vile clutches of Madam Stagmire. They find themselves lost in Odin Forest, where they are not alone; mysterious and sinister wolves are chasing them on their journey through the forest. Just when they reach their most desperate moment of need, they find the Hollow Tree. But, the forest isn't done with the pair as they press on in their pursuit of Home. With Wolfincrass' guidance, Timothy learns about his own quest for Home and more about his mysterious benefactor.

The Little Quarterback

Based on the children's book by the same title, it is the story of the smallest player on the field who achieves success through effort and determination.

A scenic work about art and nature, human nature, and the unknown. Set in the future, where life is scarce but plant life is plentiful. The story chronicles one Future Human (Melissa Frank) who begins to question her routine way of life, a life controlled by her watch. As the film states: every day, each human is allowed only five minutes on the surface.

Love in the Summertime
(15 minutes)

In the summer of their sixth grade year, Andrew, Marcus and James enjoy their days throwing water balloons at girls, swimming and hanging out with the other neighborhood children. However, when the boys fall in love with the girls who were once just their friends, their summer becomes more complicated than they'd imagined. They discover that first love is as joyous, fleeting, and bittersweet as the summer days.

Yesterday Today was Tomorrow

A short film that relies on familiar objects and iconic imagery to tell the story of a young woman re-imaging herself. It offers a character portrait that borrows associations and feelings from the collective interpretation of particular things , to tell where the woman has been and what she hopes and dreams of. Moonrock & Lighter Fluid
(18 minutes)

T Ten-year-old Howard is a budding scientist. His sister Erin has a disease that requires she live inside a plastic bubble. When she dies, Howard thinks it's his fault and decides to build a rocket ship that Erin designed. The trouble is the rocket ship is based more on Erin's imagination than on scientific principles. With the help of his best friend, a moon rock and some lighter fluid, Howard learns that good science must start with a heart-felt dream.

The Problem with Pets
(13 minutes)

Monica is the princess of her picture perfect world until her mom's new boyfriend comes to stay for one disaster filled weekend. As Monica's pets, Speedy the tortoise, Kevin the budgie and Brian Robbit meet untimely and dramatic ends, Monica becomes that the boyfriend is responsible. She recreates the crime scenes and decides that the only way to keep the other pets alive is to get rid of him. Screened at Edinburgh Film Festival.

The Quimby Files

A Tom Quimby may be a bed wetter but when it comes to solving crime there is none better. In this film a young boy feels that he is the only hope to solving crime throughout the neighborhood.

Super Kitten and the Power Pets
(8 minutes)

A mix-up in shipping pet food ingredients causes five pets to obtain super powers. A rat captures the Power Pets, and it's up to the little kitten to save his friends.

Timeout
(5 minutes)

A young boy, Timmy is struck with boredom and desires someone to play with him, but his family is all too busy, each member wrapped up in their own lives. A dramatic turn of events forces the family to reprioritize their lives.

Treasure Diversity
(10 minutes) 

Invites viewers to better understand people who look or act different, whose abilities are different, who are autistic. This film explores the discrimination evoked when a group is considered by others to be inferior. Interviews autistic people who describes the discrimination they've encountered and their hopes for a more tolerant society.

The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs   
(8 minutes)

The classic story told from the wolf's point of view. Narrated by Paul Giamatti with a bluesy musical score by Chris Thomas King. Directed by Konstantin Bronzit. A co-production of Weston Woods Studios and Remir Productions. Includes a bonus interview with author Jon Scieszka and illustrator Lane Smith.

The Velveteen Rabbit
(8 minutes)

A toy rabbit yearns to become 'Real' through a child's love. Through his journey, the Velveteen Rabbit learns the mystery of Nursery Magic and becomes Real in more than one way. Created by student filmmaker, Denise Quesnel, whose goal with this film was to create community involvement through working with animal shelters, local actors and crew. Denise is an artist and filmmaker living in Vancouver, BC.

Adan, a boy in Puerto Rico, has one day to find a new home for his pet goat before his family relocates to New York in the late 1950s. Before he goes, Adan also discovers the promise of first love with best friend and neighbor Denise.
